SUMMARY:Camp Courageous
DESCRIPTION:Camp Courageous is a wonderful environment where we all have an absolutely brilliant time. While we have a brilliant time doing a range of really fun activities the leaders make sure everyone is connecting with each other and subtly learning from each other about their conditions\, how to cope and indeed how to thrive. We do awesome things such as kayaking\, archery\, team trivia and music trivia and games\, campfire\, beach games and usually an outing or two. This year we are on the Sunshine Coast in Currimundi\, near Caloundra. So we will definitely be able to enjoy some fun and amazing activities there. The campers share a room with a few other campers to sleep and we have a common area where we run quieter activities such as crafts and games at alternative times or when campers may be too tired or sore to do the big activities. Usually\, though the group is so inclusive and supportive of each other everyone will come and participate or just watch because it’s such a beautiful environment where we all understand each other and the need to take it slow or stop\, or even to go crazy to achieve something that we might not in other environments. We have many returning campers each year who are all like family and connect like they never left.  It is a true joy to see all the new campers who come on camp building those connections too. We hold an education session on camp on the last night where all the campers talk and share and learn from each other and really try to identify positively with the journey they are on and absolutely break the isolation of suffering through their condition alone. \nAll food and activities are included and we are able to give medications when needed on camp with your permission. The leaders have all been on camp before as a leader\, with a lot of them having come through from being campers to now being leaders and are amazing role models for the kids. \nPlease contact Matthew McEwen at matthewmcewen.zoesangels@gmail.com to discuss a place on camp for your child.

DESCRIPTION:  \nZoe’s Angels was created in 2012. We started raising awareness and money to send children effected with Juvenile Rheumatic & Musculoskeletal Diseases to Camp in NSW. \nWe were running a few small events throughout the year to be able to fund the travel and participation for 5 children and 2 camp leaders. \nWe Advocate for children suffering with Juvenile Rheumatic & Musculoskeletal Diseases in Queensland was non-existent. \nDue to the misconception that Arthritis is an “Older Person’s disease” there was very little funding for children battling chronic Arthritis. \n1 in 1000 children are diagnosed with 1 of 5 sub types of arthritis. \nAdvocating: Giving a voice to those whose voices are too little to hear. \nEnjoy an afternoon of live entertainment and delicious food by our beautiful bay. \nRelax on the green and enjoy the band\, silent auction\, raffles and generous giveaway while families with children take advantage of organised games and activities. \nPlease note that lunch is included in the ticket price. \n*Plus Booking Fee \nBook Tickets
